Hey guys, nice message board. I've got a 1989 740 GL. She's got, currently, 218,058 miles on her. And guess what? The engine has never had any maitenance performed on it (other than oil changes, spark plugs, and air filters, those are basic). Starts right up and runs great. Sometimes it won't want to start, but you can easily keep it running with a couple taps on the throttle. The RPM's will sometimes, rarely, bounce a bit on idling, but nothing too bad at all. The only major problems is the seals going, as oil leaks from the cylinder head pretty bad. As is, I've broken 100 mph with this engine, and she was red-lining the whole way. She can beat alot of my friend's V6's, so I'm proud. Come on guys, post up your car's stories!
