The brick is now ten years old and the odometer shows one mile short of 131,000 miles. She steadily rolls down the road glistening in all her white splendor with only a hint of a shake every now and then. In a few thousand miles when the crummy tires that the PO shod her with are replaced with good ones, the occasional steering wheel shake will be gone for good. I have driven with her now for almost two years and 24,000 miles. I have never enjoyed driving, owning and working on a car as much as I have my first Volvo.
I have not had the opportunity to drive very many other Volvos so I am curious to know if many other Volvo owners deal with a large number of interior rattles. The ones my brick has are not bad, although they can be numerous at times, and the stereo system in conjunction with the sunroof does an excellent job of mitigating them. But, I am still curious. Recent rattle search and destroy missions have been somewhat successful in routing out the enemy. Yet, a few more thousand miles down the road, new insurrectionists can be heard.
Please do not view my queary as complaining. I would never be so shallow and unappreciative as to bad mouth a paid for car that looks and drives as good as my beloved brick. I am just curious. Any and all feed back is welcomed and valued.
