Last night my favorite car started stumbling and hiccuping and eventually died. After letting it sit for an hour it would restart but died 20 seconds later. Towed her home and came up with this..
1. Good spark to plugs
2. Can't hear main fuel pump with ignition on.
3. Relay clicks when ignition is turned on.
4. Removed relay and jumped pins 30 and 97/2 on the relay board per the EXCELLENT instructions in the Brickboard 700/900 maintenance forum. Main pump works! Great! The car STILL would not even hint at starting.
After further reading, I see mention of the fuel pressure regulator. My trusty Haynes manual doesn't tell me where this is located.
Any opinions that the relay is bad even though it clicks and that it also controls the FPR - hence no start with the relay removed?
Thanks for any help.
