Greetings -
OK - I'm new - I admit it. Just bought my first Volvo two weeks ago. So far I've rebuilt the passenger's side motor mount, replaced the fuel pump regulator and then dealt with a few minor details. It's a 1982 245DL that has just failed the state emissions test miserably. It has a 2.1L gas motor and is fuel injected. When the car starts up it revs to about 2000 RPM regardless of weather the engine is hot or cold. It will rev for about 15 seconds when warm, and longer when cold.
I'm wondering if it has a stuck choke? I've been reading various threads on this board and keep seeing ominous reference to bad Air Mass Meters. Could it be that?
Help is appreciated~!
