Longer Tailgate Struts 200 1993

I often almost smack my head on the tailgate of my '93 245 when it's open all the way. I'm 6 feet tall, but the tailgate is about 5'-9" when extended all the way. My '91 945T has plenty of clearance, but not the 245. I disconnected the gas struts temporarily and it appears that the 245 hinges will allow a greater opening, but the stock struts are about 3 inches shorter on the 245 than on the 945. The 945 struts are of a different design, but are there other longer struts that fit a 245 available?
