Hi all,
This morning I performed a compression test on my 91 940 GL with B230F
engine and these were the results.
#1cyl(back) 170psi; #2cyl(second from back) 160psi;#3 162psi; #4(front)150psi.
These reading were taken with the engine warm and it took eight cranks to obtain these readings.
Can anybody advise what are the correct specs for compression in this
engine? My haynes manual says about 130 to 150psi is correct but I'm
starting to wonder about that. There is 20psi variation between the highest
and lowest cylinders. Is this too much? about right?
Also, when I took the spark plugs out those from #1 and 3 had a very white
nose and few deposits on them. What could this mean? #2 and 4 spark plugs
were grey/tan which is normal.
Thanks
Brad
