Anyone notice a significant change when they switched to synthetic? 900 1994

Hi all,
I switched to synthetic this weekend (see post adventures in oil changing below). I used 4 quarts of mobile 1 10w-40 synthetic and I noticed a significant change in the smothness of my engine's running. Am I imagining things or have those of you that haved changed noticed the same thing.
