Driveline Thumping/knocking sound 900 1991

When driving over bumps under acceleration, I get this loud thump/knock underneath my car in the rear. It seems to originate by the drive shaft close to the differential. Has anyone ever encountered this problem before and possibly pinpointed the origin of this problem. I inspected all the bushings in the rear suspension and found no apparent defects.

Also when accelerating from stand still, a similar thumping sound is heard but not so far back. Once the car is up and going, thumping goes away.
