Water leaking into tailight assemblies 700 1985

My vehicle is a 1985 740 Turbo sedan which I purchased new. I have an annoying problem with water leaking into the tailight assemblies either after a rain or after taking the vehicle through a car wash. The inside of the trunk also gets damp. I have checked all the weatherstripping and all appears to be well.

This has been an ongoing problem since the car was new and I have "learned to live with it" although I would like to resolve it.

This car has never been in an accident so that is not part of the problem.

Anybody?
