Red dash lights stay on. Why? 700 1989

I have a 89 740 wag. with about 90K miles. A couple of days ago I noticed that the battery light and all the others on the right of the odomiter reset nob remain on but are fairly dim. They dim even more when I drive faster. I looked around the car and dont see any bulbs out and the car runs fine. What is my brick trying to tell me. I want to fix her so I dont get stuck on the road. Any help would be GREAT. Thanks.
