Hi,
My name is Nick, and I have a '79 Volvo 244. I got curious about them and found a 244 at a local auto towing auction. I picked it up for $45. It has a few problems keeping it from being a good working and drivable car. Does seem to run okay. But one of two things that annoy me most about this car, coincidering it was mistreated almost beyond belief, the cold start injector and the thermo-time switch don't work at all. I ran a test with a power supply directly to the injector, and it works perfectly, but when hooked up to the system, does absolutely nothing, little to no voltage. Thus, is takes between 7 and 15 turns of the key to finally start the engine. I want to know, what comes before the cold start and the time switch? How is that all wired to supply power to those components, and what are your thoughts on what the fault possibly is?
Thank you
from Nick
