burning oil on cold start 900

it's starting to scare me a little

it just started and it's getting worse every week

on a cold start if i move the car a cloud of oil blows out

i talked to a friend who told me it might be the valve stem seals

should i take it in and get them replaced?
if it gets worse i feel i might have to sell the car
i don't want an oil burner, i bought the car so it wouldnt do things like this
