5 speed Upshift indicator light...disconnect??!! 700

Greetings,
I am the new owner of a 1986 745 Turbo with a 5 speed. The upshift indicator light on the gauge cluster seems to be all wrong and I would like to disconnect it. Where would I find the connection to "pull". At the gearbox somewhere or dash??
