i just bought a new ambient temperature gauge on ebay. . .cost me about $10. it's not a VDO or volvo, but it's 52mm, and at that price i can afford to take the chance of it not fitting.

the seller is from england, and being from england, the gauge is in celsius. i'd like to "change" it to fahrenheit by removing the glass and inserting something calibrated to the same scale but in fahrenheit. (probably a piece of paper done on a CAD program and printed on a good photo-quality printer). so, assuming this gauge is VDO (which it isn't) or at least made the same way, is there any known way to remove the glass/get at the innards short of bashing it?
