Engine block #s, does this B230ft have 13mm rods?

I located an engine at the wreckers, it's in a '89 745ti. The block does not have the embossed "K" that my '88 has. The numbers on the block are 1289159, the numbers on the head are (top to bottom) 3 1 89. I really want to find out if this engine has the stronger rods. The wrecker says if I want to pull the pan I must buy it.
