I had been pretty lucky so far, but my luck ran out on my brake hose job. although it had been soaked with penetrant enough times to just fall apart on its own, one of the fittings just broke rather than comming off of the hose. its the rigid line at the front driver's side wheel, the short one that connects the caliper to the hose towards the front of the car. the tubing was not stuck, it's still fine, but the nut that holds it to the brake hose just sheared apart and now half of it's stuck inside of the brake hose end with nothing to grab onto. the problem is that now there is nothing to attach to the new hose, and i can't take the rigid line out to work on it because i can't take the free half of the nut off over the flare at the end of the line. (sorry thats so wordy, but im really tired)
so what i would like to know is how do i get a new little metal line? can you order just that short little metal line from somewhere already formed with the fittings already on it? can you cut off the flared end, put on a new nut, and re-flare it and still have enough to connect it? if you can, how the hell do you even do that?
i am sure someone else has had this problem, given how hard i tryed to avoid it and it still happened. thanks to anyone who can help!
