140/164 overdrives 140-160

I have two 140's with overdrive 'boxes(M41's),but I have recently acquired a 164 with an overdrive box as a spares vehicle.I've been told these boxes aren't interchangeable so is it worth me keeping hold of the box for spares for the M41's?Regards,Chris Sheer U.K.
