Ever since I bought my 88 745T last July the ABS light has come on after I drive the first few feet. This weekend I installed new rotors and pads. I expected to see the sensors dirty when I pulled the rotors and they were. I cleaned them with some spray BrakeKleen and Q-tips. Also cleaned the sensor gear wheel. Went for a test drive and the light came back on. It might have taken an extra second or two, but hard to tell.
Electrical connections for the sensors look good.
I have read that there is no way to query the ABS computer in this year (88) car. Is this true, or a vicious lie?
Where is the brain for the ABS in an 88 740? I had the right kickpanel off a few weeks ago and did not see it there.
Any other tips for diagnosing these puppies?
