Injector seals question 700 1987

I got and replaced the seals with a bosch injector seal kit (got online FCP). On the kit, it stated that the protective cap must be reused with the injectors with yellor caps. Hard to understand european instrutions, something about cars with fuel regulators.

Well my caps all broke when I took them off the injectors. I replaced them with the caps the came with the kit.

I'm thinking this is the cause of the my stupid hot idle dying problem. I looked at a normal injector at pick and pull, and the old cap go in much futher than the new ones I have. I have a little space between the nozzle and cap, 1-2mm. The 'normal' one has no space.

I went to the dealer and they had the same kits as I got.

I tried removing the caps at the junk yard, but they broke too.

I'll take off the damn injectors again. It's not too smart to install them when the temp is around 40F. They won't go in unless you heat the holes (blow drier), even with vasaline. Lesson learned after cuts and bruises and choice words.
