Oil in the coolingsystem 140-160 1971

I have a problem...I noticed some oil floating on the coolingwater in the expansionbox (dont'know what the name of that is, I'm Dutch). Does this autimatically mean that there's a leak in the head of the engine? Is it bad? Can you hear it if the head is blown? I'm talking about a Volvo 144, 1971, with gas-installation (don't know if that matters anyway)
