Please help! Mystery auto O/D problem! 200

Hi all, I just got done doing a tune up to my "new" '84 245 GLT. I have changed front seals, timing belt, fuel injectors, air filter, oil and filter, flushed radiator, and also tried to fix my O/D problem. First I tried to "Fosterize" O/D relay, that did not work, so unsure of my soldering expertise, I put a new one in. That did not take care of it. I put on a new solenoid, still not it! Before the aforementioned work, the O/D would not work at all. After I got done it now works only intermittantly when it feels like it! Right after I replaced the solenoid and took it on the initial drive, it worked perfect! Next drive it did not work. Third time around the block and it would shift into O/D if I romped the go pedal around 45 mph and kicked it down to second then let off around 55 mph and it would shift into third, then smoothly into O/D. That is what it does some of the time. Once in a while it works great! The rest of the time I just hum along at about 55 or 60 while turning about three grand. Not good. I do not know what it might be, any help is VERY appreciated!

Thanks so much, and please excuse the long and wordy description! Robert

P.S. I cannot take it to any mechanics, because there are none here in N.E. Mississippi that work on "furrin" cars!
