Timing Belt 200

I`ve been really enjoying reading the posts about my newly aquired 84 240 GL.they are solid cars very smooth especially after some new shocks.
you guys have so far helped me diagnose the O.D. solenoid, door handles, air flow controller (to Smog cert)and it passed. Now I really have a problem,I was rolling along about 60 mph and the car just died out I tried starting it up a few times at first I thought it might have been gas since I havent had the car long maybe the float was inaccurate it never been on "E" since i`ve owned it (2weeks),I purchased it with a full tank, but any way that wasnt it. then the the battery went down, tried jumping it still nothing, I finally thought maybe this was internal so i pulled the oil filler cap to see if the cam was turning and it was not. So to my question do you think I did any damage to the head trying to start it with a broken timing belt?
