Thanks for all the advice and info. My husband and I bought the 1995 940 Turbo wagon on Thursday ( yesterday ). We really love the car. The volvo mechanic gave it a clean bill of health, except needs all new tires, water pump replaced in next 6 months , new wiper blades, and rear brakes replaced soon. So we were happy. We even talked the guy down to 6995 about a 500 savings.

Only a few more questions : where can we get an additional key. We tried to get it copied today at a few hardware stores but they said it has a microchip or something in it and we probably would have to go to a volvo dealer. Is this true? What are the best tires to get? Finally, the tank was almost on empty when we picked it up, so we filled it ( not really thinking ) with 87 octane gas. Now we notice when we accelerate and then take a foot off the gas a sort of hissing sound. Is this serious? Related to the 87 octane? Otherwise no noises. Thanks again
