Do all injectors have plastic caps?

Do all injectors have the plastic caps at the spraying end? My car's a 93 940 B230 with Regina injection and when I replaced the injector seals it didn't have the caps, but they were included in my seal kit. What's the purpose of these and should my car have them? Thanks for any help.
