speedometer jumps 900 1991

mine is a '91 940 GLE, while cruise control at 68 and the rpm needle at ~ 31k, i noticed the rpm needle jumped to ~35k and then back a few times, i did not notice any jerking or engine rev up or down (at cruise control), it happened a few times, the car seemed to be running fine, i also noticed the needls jumped a few times when at idle (home at garage), did not noticed any jerking or rev up or down, any thought, TIA.......
