I wonder if anyone can help. I have a 940 2 liter turbo car. The engine is running in peak condition - clean oil, plugs etc. Only, when it gets hot (on a long drive at 80mph), there is a "ticking" noise from the engine. Valve clearances checked and are perfect. There is no noticable noise with your head under the hood, and yet you can hear this noise in the cabin. Sounds like it is coming from somewhere around the turbo/exhaust (i/e right hand side of the car). Could it concievably be a blowing exhaust manifold gasket / exhaust to turbo gasket? But I can't hear anything under the hood, and there is no noticable puffing gas anywhere round these joints.
Can anyone help? Apart from this noise, the car is fantastic and is definately very well built...
