Stupid Center Link Q. 140-160 1973

OK, I did something really dumb (maybe).

I took the center steering link out of my car for a pending replacement. I dutifully kept the old one so I could set the new one to the same length, rendering the car driveable to the alignment shop (hopefully).

The new unit arrived. I realized that one end has RH threads and the other end has LH threads. This is, of course, so that the overall length is adjustable with the unit in place (much like a turnbuckle).

HOWEVER, I have *no idea* which end goes which way. That is: does the end with the LH threads go to the left or right side of the car? If it matters, the car is left-hand drive.

Or does it even matter at all? The studs in either end appear to be the same. Likewise, the holes in the Pitman arm and idler arm appear the same.

Anybody? Please?
