strut recommendations? 200 1984

I posting this on behalf of my computer-illiterate dad, who thinks he got great advice here from his previous query on electrical problems.

He's going to replace front strut inserts on his '84 240 250K. As far as we know, the car still has original struts, and it's starting to show... the car just waddles around on the road.

Anyway, it is mind-numbing to look on volvocarparts.com, etc and see all the available options. For example, there are boge automatic, boge pro gas, boge turbo gas, and 2 types of KYB. I'm not mentioning bilsteins because they are out of his price range. He just wants something decent that will make the car feel like stock new again. So what's the best choice?
