I could go on forever trying to describe what I'm after but since a 1985 245 ti and 1985 4000S Quattro are as different as cars can get, I'll ask just this. If I were looking for reliable "sporty" european performance (assuming proper preventative maintenance) which of these machines would be the better choice? Is anyone familiar with both the Audi in line 5cyl. and the Volvo B21FT? My last Volvo was a 745 16valve that blew its belt--god awful mess, but it's performance is what i miss, which one of these cars will give me some reliable performance with minimal costs--unlike the cost of a new factory reconditioned head? Is the 1985 245 ti even worth going after (it costs twice as much as the 4000 quattro with the same # of miles) if I want better performance in handling and acceleration as compared to a 1991 245 with B230 (my wife's car)?
