Hi All,
So a couple weeks ago my rheostat blew. It exhibited the classic symptoms: dash lights go out and the burning electrical smell. So I did some research and ordered a used one from volvoworld.com. Yesterday I swapped the old rheostat with the new one and everything tested okay. Then 15 minutes into my first drive with the new rheostat the new one blew too! Argh! Anyway I'm thinking it would be prudent to just wire the leads together rather than through the rheostat. I'm okay with this but is there some larger electrical issue I should address as well? What would cause a second rheostat to blow?
Thanks,
