Well, I had a suspision that my clutch was starting to go and then we had a vallet drive our car. It's a little hard to get into first if you are not use to it so I think he was driving in third gear. Now my car has an awfull burn't brake smell and the clutch is slipping real bad. My question is; Does this sound like a bad clutch and how hard is it to replace a clutch. I looked in the Haynes manual and it looks pretty straight foward. I am fairly mechanically inclined. Is this something that I can handle or should I let the mechanic go for it. And while we are on the subject, what can I expect to pay someone to do the job.
