AW71L transmission
Dear bricksters,
I plan to flush the tranny with new ATF. I've read the FAQ, which suggested that I unlock the tranny line at the upper radiator, insert a clear rubber tube and drain the old ATF out here. The FAQ further suggested that I pour the new ATF through the ATF refil tube (near the firewall)with an equivalent amount of new ATF to that drained out, and continue to do so until a clear colored ATF comes out of the drain tubing (at the radiator end).
I notice the radiator has an upper and a lower outlet that lead to the tranny. I suppose the upper one is to drain and the lower to suck. Can I not insert another clear rubber tubing to the lower tube (that leads to the tranny, not at the radiator end) and have this tubing placed in a pail of the new ATF? In this way while the upper tube is draining, the lower one is also drawing in new ATF to the tranny. This will eliminate the trouble of pouring and measuring. When new ATF comes out at the lower opened outlet of the radiator, then I know the tranny is completely filled.
Will this technique work?
Appreciate all your opinion and advice.
Thanks
Laozong
