My wife was driving our '86 245 the other day, and told me it wasn't shifting correctly. After a quick drive, I am proud (and sad) to say that she is correct. The car will shift through all the gears, but is nearly redlined (or past redline; no tach) before it does. For example, I have to be going 65-70 before the OD kicks in, and the car will downshift if the speed falls below 60. A quick look at Haynes leads me to think that I need to adjust the kickdown cable, but I don't like to touch the car before first consulting Brickboard. Am I correct? Any tips?
Thanks,
Kurt
