A/C orifice tube? 900 1991

I am getting ready to place an order for a variable orifice tube for my truck and realized that I should probably get one for my wives volvo. Now the question, she has a 91 940SE and I have never taken the time to trace out the A/C system. Does anyone know if this particular model has an expansion valve or a orifice tube. I know that the R12 is on its last leg and plan on ordering a volvo conversion kit but want to place a variable valve in the system if applicable. The chilton and haynes are of no help. Thanks in advance, Craig
