I set off to change my radiator tonight and when I had the radiator out, cooling fan, fan shroud, etc... it just seemed silly not to change the timing belt since I am unsure of its origin/age. It is not cracked and is not oily. Do I need to remove the large crankshaft bolt in order to change the belt. If so , how do I keep the Crankshaft from turning when I remove this bolt. Any other tips for making this timing belt change go smoothly?? I read a post somewhere that suggested counting and marking the number of belt teeth between gear marks and then transferring this info to the new belt. This seems logical... anyone with experience using this method??
Thanks for the tips, I'm kind of nervous to make sure this goes smoothly.
