fuel problems 900 1994

i just got a tip that solved my ignition problem, but now the engine cranks forever and wont run, except for a few seconds after using starting fluid. previous to my ignition problem which turned out to be the transmission sensor, the car never ever had a problem starting ( now at 112,000 mi). So I'm guessing one of two things is going on, either an amazing coincidental fuel blockage/pump problem, or a collateral electrical problem with the tranny sensor effecting some kind of fuel/pump relay. Since manuals do not exist, I'm not sure even which relay is which, or which to test? HELP!
