I have a 122 coupe with a 140 gas tank hacked into it. It was done when the car was converted to an B20F with EFI. The filler is in the normal 122 position. There is also a small diameter hose that runs from the filler area up through a loop (about 12" higher than the tank). and out to a hole in the floor of the trunk just behind the passenger side wheel.
The problem is that if I have a full tank and make a hard left turn (particularly while going uphill) I spill fuel all over the road. Obviously very bad and unsafe. Also, the car has a slight gas smell to it all the time. The trunk is really smelly.
SO, the question is: How is the fuel tank ventilation supposed to working in a 122 or 140? Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Eric
