Problems with 245T 200 1983

I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on the latest problem on my 245 turbo. I was coming home from work this morning when the car abruptly cut out in in traffic. I drifted it off the road and cranked it to see if it would restart. No start and no sound from the fuel pump.I thought it must just be the relay,so i put in the spare i had in the glove box.Still no fuel pump.At this point i jumped the termenals at the relay connector and the pump ran.I started the car and drove off thinking both relays must have been bad.(even though i had resolderd both recently)On the way i noticed that all guages in the dash were out exept the clock, speedo, boost, and also realized the signal lights were'nt working either. When i arrived home i started doing some checking under the hood only to find that the major engine management systems (idle air valve,CPR,cold start inj.,freqency valve and so on) were'nt functioning. My quesion is, if this is due to the ratty old wiring harrness why is it effectin g the signal lights as well as the engine components? The major deterioration seems to be confined to the wires pertaining to the CIS and other basic engine controls. Are the signal lights somehow tied in to the same harrness? Thanks a bunch for any suggesions or helpfull hints B.G.
