I drive a 1993 940 ,

I've noticed that when I am stopped with foot on brake and in drive that there is a buzzing/vibration noise. It sounds somewhat like a helicopter! I can shift to neutral and the noise goes away. Also I hear the same buzzing while accelerating up until about 2,000 rpm. Once at hiway speed the engine purrs and the car runs wonderfully. What is this buzzing sound? Could it be bad motor mounts, or transmission mounts?

What is the cost of repair?
