Looking at a 90 740 turbo wagon. Input appreciated. 700

I am looking at a 90 Turbo wagon. Both interior and exterior are very clean. It has a little over 168,000 miles but there is a problem with the turbo. The shop where it's at has $3000 into it so I am not sure what I could get it for. The problem with the turbo is that if they accelerate into the turbo boost the car just about dies. It doesn't stall just looses all engine power. Any input would really be appreciated.
