Power antenna & Radio Problems 700 1989

Just got an 89 740GL station wagon with 182k miles, and I love it! It's my first car. I have two problems, though. First, my power antenna doesn't extend. The antenna motor doesn't run when i turn the radio on or use the antenna switch on the dash. Second, the LED display on my radio only comes on about 1 out of ten times I turn the radio on. The radio works, and the button lights work, but the LED display is flaky.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
