Turbo noise 700 1990

My turbo is quiet, i mean REALLY quiet. I can't hear it unless accelerating hard, and then I can only hear it for a second or so. On 740s I looked at and one 760, the turbos were rather noisy, I could hear them at any time. Does this mean my turbo is relatively new?
