In park, after warming up, I rev the engine up to around 5000-5500 quickly, and I think I hear knocking. I'm not sure, but it's like a slight muffled *thunk* (very light, could be mistaken for exhaust sound easily) but I believe it comes from the engine area.
I just cleaned out my throttle body and checked a bunch of hoses, so I believe those are okay. I'm certain everything is connected properly.
What else can be causing this?
I'm using the premium (92? or 94? octane) gasoline from Mobil, so I don't think it can be cass.
Also, on the wheel that the throttle cable connects to, what is the other cable for? I notice that when the throttle is applied, the wheel rotates and pulls the other cable.
Sorry if this is covered in the service manuals, I haven't picked one up yet, but I will. Any recommendations for which one to get? I haven't seen a 1990 740 Haynes manual yet.
Thanks.
