My care package from FCP/Groton arrived yesterday so I jacked up the 240 and started working on the brakes again this afternoon. The first thing I did was remove the brake lines from the MC and install blank plugs. The pedal is high and hard so I have a good starting point. Next I loosened all the brake lines going into the distribution block and it is ready to come out. It was leaking around the brake light switch. I have a new distribution block and new rubber brake lines to install tomorrow but I wanted to let the line connections soak in PB Blaster over night. I also got new calipers for the front to install but I decided to install the new brake lines first. I also found a few bad wheel studs so I might as well replace those too while the calipers are off.
Everything seems to be progressing along well so far. I hope to have a strong brake pedal after all the new parts are installed and the system is bled. I'll let you know how it turns out but I may not be able to get new wheel studs until Monday so that might hold me up a bit on finishing the job. I really wasn't looking foward to working on the brakes again but I feel confident that the brakes will work much better when I'm done.
