flickering oil pressure light 200 1985

The oil pressure light flickers between 15 to 30 miles per hour and then it stops. Checked the dipstick, and it is showing that the engine has four quarts of oil. The wiring is questionable. Is it the wiring or an engine problem? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. George
