Main engine wiring harness diagram??? 200 1985

Hello,

I recently claimed the free 1985 240 from Charlotte. The PO had a "mechanic" replace the main engine wiring harness. He accomplished this by changing a handfull of wires at the gray firewall connector and attaching them with wire nuts. The PO states that he had an intermediate no start condition that could initially be resolved by wiggling the connector at the ignition ECU under the hood, later though it just wouldnt start.

When I got the car, it had no spark. I was able to diagnose the Ignition ECU with the Bentley manual, I replaced it with a used ECU from the boneyard, we've got spark now, but still won't start. I am suspecting no fuel at engine.

I do not have much (almost no) experience with fuel injection. What is the easiest way to determine whether or not fuel is reaching the cylinders?

I performed the fuel injection ECU diagnostic tests in the Bentley and the only bad readings were regarding the throttle switch, I suspect bad wiring.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the main engine harness?? Is the gray connector listed in the Bentley's diagrams and I am just not seeing it?

Any general or specific suggestions???

I am going to the beach this weekend and will take the manuals along to study. Any "supplemental reading" would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Chris Kaufman
