Noise in clutch when pulling away in first.... 700 1989

Help me Dear Volvo gurus
When shifting out of 1st gear I get a throw-out bearing kind of sound,kind of like a squeeling belt noise?
Can this be greased?The guy I bought my 740 from said the tranny was only
40K(kilometers).Or maybe the clutch is out of adjustment.
