R & R oil pump, b 21ft 200

I am seriously considering replacing my oil pump. I have read several posts and looked in the archives' My pressure has always been GOOD but the last several months the gauge/light are acting strange. In the morning the needle is peggedpast 5 bar..it operates at 2/3bar when operating temp is reached the needle shakes and pegs and goes to zero..I have checked the CONNECTORS but have not preformed a oil pressure test, I plan on doing that Sunday. Any advice..Thanks..and Have a GREAT weekend!
