Front Seat Conversion 140-160

I am restoring a 71 142e. I would like to install some 240 front seats. I read somewhere (maybe in this forum) that this can be done by using the seat rails from a 74 140. Well, I got a pair of 74 rails. The seat position adjustment on these is in the front, rather than on the side of the seat the way my 72 is designed. I tried installing them, but I couldn't fit the rail for the passenger seat over the fuel injection control box, and still be able to work the adjustment lever. Before I rig up a new and probably inferior way of attaching the control box, I wanted to check a few things with you experts out there.

1. First, does the 74 seat rail really provide an "adaptor" for later 240 seats?

2. Is there a way to fit the rail over the 71 fuel injection box and its mounting bracket? Maybe, there is a different bracket assembly out there for later models?

3 If the answer to 1 is yes and there is no standard bracket available, does anyone have a great idea for installing the 71 fuel injection box about 5/8" lower? My first thought was to just remove the bracket and glue the box to a piece of wood that I could then bolt to the frame. I think it would just fit under the seat rail.
