I'm having what seems like either an acceleration or transmission problem with my 89 740GL station wagon. If i'm driving slowly (like around a parking lot looking for spaces) and i accelerate, there is a slight hesitation, then the car jumps a bit forward - much faster than what my pressure on the gas pedal calls for. It then immediatley goes back to the right speed. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Could this get worse if I don't fix it right away?
